Topographic surveys using GPS (Global Positioning System) technology are performed using differential GPS for centimeter scale accuracy of coordinates in the local UTM system and corrections using processing with links to the National Geodetic Network for a Georeferenced survey.
GPS consists of a system of satellite navigation that allows one to determine the geographic position anywhere in the world to provide location data for geological, mapping, topographic maps, drill holes and control points, etc.
